In 2012, Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF) was established. The mission was to ensure that not a single child with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in Pakistan remains untreated, with the core focus areas being to financially support child heart surgeries, to improve the local pediatric cardiology and pediatric cardiac surgery infrastructure in Pakistan, to raise awareness of CHD – the world’s most common birth defect, and ultimately to build Pakistan’s first dedicated Children’s Heart Hospital & Research Institute (CHHRI).
In 2022, to further the cause, Mr. Farhan Ahmad – Volunteer CEO PCHF led the expansion of this organisation into the United Kingdom, as PCHF UK. Keeping in mind the significant Pakistani community in the UK, this is a step that is bound to be of great help to the 60,000 children born with CHD annually in Pakistan.
